About Kyung Min

Short Version

As Creative Director for Elative Marketing, a new media design and web marketing firm, Kyung Min helps businesses embrace emerging web communications channels and smart designs that reinforce brand image for more effective and informed marketing strategies.

Kyung is involved in networks from San Francisco to Silicon Valley, which includes being Vice Chair of Communications, Marketing & Technology for the Palo Alto Young Professionals and an Ambassador for the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce.

A diverse background in creative arts and business marketing for Kyung includes two Bachelor's degrees, one from Berklee College of Music in Electronic Production & Design and Music Business / Management, and another from Academy of Art University in Web Design & New Media.

Born in Taegu, Korea, Kyung Min is currently the Creative Director for Elative Marketing, a progressive new media marketing firm, and Director of Marketing at Addo Label, a progressive digital record label. Most recently Mr. Min was an employee of Digidesign, the industry leader in digital audio and live sound, as Content Manager of Web Marketing. Mr. Min received a Bachelor's degree from Berklee College of Music as a dual major in Music Synthesis & Music Business / Management and a 2nd Bachelor's degree from the Academy of Art University in Web Design & New Media.

Mr. Min attended Milton Academy, a private prep school located in Milton, MA, as a boarding student for his four years of high school. He was originally a hockey recruit, but by the middle of junior year, he resigned from the sport to concentrate on his musical studies at the New England Conservatory, which he was attending 3-4 days a week.

He then went on to accept a scholarship award to attend the Royal College of Music in London, UK as a composition major and flute performance minor, studying composition with the head of the department, Julian Anderson.

After a year at the RCM, Mr. Min transferred to the Berklee College of Music to focus on the technological and business side of modern, popular music. His last two semesters at Berklee were also spent attending the Academy of Art University, where he was a Web Design & New Media (a field encompassing graphic design/digital illustration, web design, video editing, digital audio, and motion graphics) major.

While attending Berklee/AAU, Mr. Min started several businesses and entities. They include the Music Business Journal, which is a publication within Berklee aiming to raise the academic, scholarly standard within the Music Business/Management department and music business departments at other colleges, Berklee's internet radio station (BIRN), the Marketing Design Group, and several others.

Mr. Min is an individual who loves to immerse himself in learning and challenging conventional thought. He is interested in many different areas of new media, marketing, and design, as well as never forgetting about his original loves of hockey and music.
